Summary
The West Kimberley Power Project (WKPP) consists of five power stations, four fuelled by LNG, a 200tonne per day LNG plant and associated transport infrastructure. With a generating capacity of 74MW, the operating sites produce electricity for 27,000 people in the resource-rich, but remote West Kimberley region.
The project involves two gas pipelines; a high-pressure pipeline from the DBNGP to the Karratha LNG Plant, and a low pressure pipeline from the LNG receiving facility on the outskirts of Broome to the power station near the port.
EDL engaged OSD to assist in the commissioning and initial operation of the pipelines, including the training of EDL personnel to undertake the ongoing operation of the pipelines.
